Karma Star Prayer Bead Workshop with Tara Evonne Trudell
Join Tara as she offers a sacred and kind space to come together to participate in a shared personal ceremony of rolling our own prayer beads that empower us on our personal and collective paths. This can be a healing and powerful transference of energy that uplifts the spirit and continues to uplift our own purpose in knowing we are creating kinship in the purest decolonial way possible. Taking back and defining our own value in each bead.
This will be a 2 hour workshop with a maximum of 12 participants.

These workshops will be held at Tara’s studio in beautiful Chimayò, New Mexico on the unceced territory/lands of the beautiful and powerful Tewa Peoples. Directions will be provided after RSVP. Thank you!

Want to follow along with Tara’s Print?Download the following image: DOWNLOAD2 x blank sheet of paper for your words1 Ruler or straight object for measuring1 pair of scissors or Xacto Blade for cuttingA wooden pencil for rolling (if wooden skewers/dowels aren’t available)Your favorite pen for writing your poetry wordsTacky Glue® and Modge Podge® Water-Based Sealant for gluing (from craft/office store)A few toothpicks for gluing assistanceA piece of cord, fabric, string or chain for prayer beads*OPTIONAL* Vintage typewriter to pound out your energy in words!

Poem Bead Making Kits can be purchased as an additional option listed under the workshop pass.The kit includes everything you need to get started, just bring your own scissors and rulers. A set of colored bead strips (from Tara’s photograph of lavender flowers) (precut)A lined blank sheet of paper for your wordsA small bottle of Tacky Glue®A small bottle of Modge Podge® water-based sealant for gluingA set of toothpicks (for applying glue to beads)A couple wooden skewers/dowels for rolling the paperpencil & pen

These workshops are free and offered by Tara to community in a good way. She envisonsions a sacred healing sanctuary where people can gather and empower themselves with good food, sharing stories while creating their own healing with each bead made.
